Just Say No!

I’m not gifted in the art of saying “no”. I very rarely have the brains to say no. If I’m honest with myself it boils down to the fact that I carry around this monster in my heart called Pride and I don’t want anyone to think I’m not capable of doing something.

I feel that if I say no that someone will use excuses like I’m too young or too inexperienced or too immature or I don’t have the skills or (my favorite) that I can’t do it because I’m a girl (no one gets to pull the girl card on me except for me, dang it!) Or the even better ones, I’m selfish or mean or I’m stuck up and therefore I WON’T help anyone out but myself. So I say yes, yes, YES! and then my list of To Do’s is out the window and I have days like yesterday when I went to the bathroom and had myself a good little cry because I felt so entirely suffocatingly overwhelmed.

Needless to say, I’ve decided I need to work on saying “no”. And maybe deal with my pride as well, i don’t know. And possibly my people pleasing addiction. And my inability to convey my frustrations without crying. And my addiction to Dr. Pepper. Oh wait no, scratch that one, I’m ok with that one.

Current Obsessions

This outfit is basically comprised of all my current fashion obsessions. So let’s break it down:

- headbands. they’re the perfect day 6 greasy hair concealer and it’s an easy way to add another pattern to your outfit. which i am always for.

- chambray. duh. this is one of those trends that I don’t give a rip and a half if it goes out of style, i will continue to wear it. chambray is just so easy to style.

- maxi skirts. this skirt has been my best spring purchase so far. I’ve worn it more times that I have shown on this blog but here’s two other ways to style it 1 and 2

- jesus sandals. i love these strappy sandals and hi hello they’re leopard? perfect. I will be continuously wearing them this summer

New Hairs

Good morning lovers!

So I put my extensions back in. I went four months without them this time, which was a nice break, but I love having the length back! It’s just so much easier to fix. You can read my extension FAQ post here!

I also ombred the ends a little and I love it! Now I’ve got my ombre hair, big sunglasses, my muscle tees, and my maxis skirts. I’m ready for you Spring! The other day Kayla O’Rourke styled a dress from Gold Seam Vintage on her blog and I utterly fell in love. If you haven’t checked out Kayla you definitely need to! She’s so adorable and her style is so eclectic and brave, I love it.

You should ALSO check out Gold Seam Vintage, a vintage shop in Reno, NV. I’m pretty sure Megan thinks I’m crazy now but I just fell in love with this dress and her shop! Too bad I decided to start making a budget and actually sticking to it this month. GSV is definitely making me rethink that ridiculous decision!

Urban Philosphy leggins on The Rambler Good morning lovers!

How was everyone’s weekend? A part of me is so glad it’s over and a part of me feels like, “wait today’s Monday? where did saturday and sunday go?”.

I’ve recently discovered a new obsession with snake print. I wasn’t too sure of it at first but these leggings from Urban Philosophy have definitely swayed me. They’re super lightweight and slinky which means I shall be wearing them through the dreaded oven months of Oklahoma. That has been my main criteria for any clothing I buy recently: can I wear it in the summer and not suffocate? Weekend Uniform

If I had to describe my usual weekend attire, this would be it. A comfy tee that I wear entirely too often, a pair of ripped of jeans, cute flats, and a scarf. While I absolutely adore dresses, and I naturally choose heels in almost any situation, this is what I feel most comfortable in.

The Rambler’s Spring Wishlist

Spring has officially sprung my friends and even though we’re still getting some crazy weather (48 tomorrow! bless!), I can’t help but dream of the sunny skies and sandal weather that’s coming this way! Here’s a few of my favorite Spring items this year

1. The perfect sandal// You know how much I love leopard, and these strappy ones are so cute! Confession: I already gave in and got these. Be prepared to see them in all outfit posts from now on.

2. Stoner Jewelry// I’m LOVING the rock jewelry trend these days! This agate necklace from Gage Huntley is literally mesmerizing.

3. Flower Power// I love mixing patterns and a flower print is such an easy mixer. I love these F21 ones, especially because they’re cheap!

4. Almost Famous// I was a bit leery of round sunglasses but now I can’t seem to get enough!

5. The Cross Body// I’m on the hunt for the perfect Spring catch all bag, and this just might be it! I always lugging around a TON of extra junk, whether it’s my camera or my styling supplies, so a big big is a necessity.

6. Leather overalls// Do I need to say more? Let’s say it again LEATHER. OVERALLS. I’m obsessed. Also, have you checked out Urban Philosophy before? Love them!

7. Relaxed tanks// I will never have enough slumpy tanks, and these Good HYOUman ones are perfect. They also have a great story behind each tee or tank, definitely check them out!

8. Baseball Caps// I love hats, they hide the fact that my hair is a wild beast most days. And since I’m utterly addicted to leather these days, this leather cap is perfect! It makes me feel less like a slob…

WHEW! This last week and weekend has been a humdinger! Just busy busy busy, all the time. I like it, but on the other hand I do enjoy my sleep!

I wore this to work a few weeks ago and while it’s probably a bit more casual than my office requires, I really liked it a lot. From the stares that I got as I went down the hallway I don’t believe that everyone agreed with me, but hey what can you do? Why yes. Here I am. Wearing overalls. At 24 years old. And no it’s not a joke.

I am personally ECSTATIC that overalls are coming back in style. Hi hello, an outfit that is SUPER comfortable and still stylish? yes please! Also, they’re perfect “fat pants”. Having one of those weeks? Overalls. Going to eat Italian and you know you’re going to be huge when you get done? Overalls. Haven’t done laundry so the only panties you have left are slightly grandma-ish (we all own them, don’t try to tell me all you wear are thongs)? Overalls!

And if you get a resounding chorus of the Dueling Banjos every time you walk by, or you’re told that you look like Mario’s little sister, well just act like Van Gogh and say, “I can’t hear you!”
