Hey We’re Still Alive!

Target Hat// Old Navy coat// Forever 21 Top// Pacsun pants// Forever 21 chelsea boots

Welp it’s Friday the 21st and we’re all still alive! I guess the Mayans got it wrong. Or maybe they just ran out of rock, who knows.

The point is that the world didn’t end which means I can now truly enjoy the good things in life. Like these boots. Have I told you of my deep love for Chelsea boots? I absolutely adore boots and these slightly ugly yet equally quirky Chelsea boots are just darling. ( Chelseas are tight fitting ankle boots distinguished by the elastic band on the sides rather than a zipper.  For those that are confused. Come on guys, get with the program).

These are on sale, these have a darling color block effect to them, and these are currently starring in my wildest dreams.

Are you in love now as well? Yes. I knew you would be.

Merry {early} Christmas! I won’t be back until after the Big Guy visits, so have a wonderful holiday, hug your loved ones extra tight, and remember what this season is really about.

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

A for Effort

Warby Parker glasses//Old Navy cardi// Asos dress// unknown belt// Charlotte Russe heels//makeup: black liquid liner on top, Revlon cherry snow lip// hair: old fashioned twist.

I felt very school teacher-esque in this outfit. My teacher friends would all say there would be no way in Hades I could wear a split to thigh dress and platform heels to school, but hey what do they know. I felt like a teacher, so Ms Hamilton I shall be.

Happy Hump day folks! Ok side story, because that’s how my brain works:

I used to call Wednesday “Hump Day” all the time (you know, because if the work week was a hill, Wednesday would be the top of the hump?). But then my sister and I got boy puppies. And boy puppies have this wretched adorable habit of getting…a little frisky sometimes. You know like when they are feelin the love…alright fine I’ll say it they freaking hump the crap out of everything.

So one day my sister’s puppy Loki was…trying to get it on…with a pillow. And Court, in her frustration, yelled out, “Stop that! Loki today is NOT Hump Day!”.

And promptly ruined the Hump Day nickname for me for all of time. And now I’ve possibly ruined it for you too? Ah well such is life. Now you can have the joy of yelling out the days it is NOT when your dogs start doing the humpty dumpty.

Have a great day! I probably won’t see you tomorrow, so Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Things I’m Loving

Forever21 polka dot top, Francesca watch, hand me down belt, target cords and wedges

Things I’m Loving:
- ice cream trips with my sisters. (Secret: the icecream I’m holding is actually my little sisters, they thought it would look cuter with my outfit. My drug of choice? Choc Chip Cookie Dough)
- My puppies. They are most precious.
- Corduroys. Especially these bright colored ones. LOVE.
-Target and their wonderful surprises that come in the shape of $8 wedges. Flowers can be for Fall right? You betcha.
- Trips to Dallas for work in which my mom and sisters come with. Work is so much better when you can go shopping in between meetings.

Easy Peasy Shorts ReVamp

QUICK! Grab that pair of really old shorts you’ve been hanging onto for who know’s why. Because guess what? I KNOW WHY. Because we’re going to get our paint on.
Grab some white paint. I used puff paint because it was the only white paint I had on hand. Squirt some in a bowl. Add a sparkle glaze if you’re feeling frisky.
Stripe those suckers up. You’ll probably have to do a few layers. Don’t worry about sectioning it off or make your lines perfect. This is supposed to be easy! Just go for it. If you get a few special lines, just call it art.
Next, make some polka dots on the other side. PUT THAT STENCIL AWAY! What did I say about making this hard? Just dip your sponge brush in, put it straight up on the fabric, and twist from side to side. Perfect ish polka dots.
and VOILA! You’ve got yourself a brand new pair of shorts!
you’re welcome.
